The Nana Second

Had a visit from DPS Saturday. They filled us in on the guy who paid us a visit Thursday night. He was 40 years old, had carjacked (apparently at gunpoint) the car he was driving from a woman in Granite Shoals around 3am that morning. Since that time, he had helped himself to quite a bit of merchandise at various stores in Houston - things like tools (?), chain saws and jeans. Hmmmmm…occupation? He also mentioned that there were a few different drugs found in the car and it wasn’t Nyquil, but cocaine, meth, etc. The guy was pretty messed up, so much so that he ended his life after he realized he was trapped in a vehicle with police surrounding him. I just can’t believe that he survived the crash! You think he was wearing a seatbelt?

I am really sad for the family of this young man, whose life was so messed up that it had to end like this. He had a wife who had a restraining order against him (no wonder!…) and children. His mother and father may still be alive and I think about the hurt they are going through because of their loss. It doesn’t matter what your children do; you still love them. You are sad when they are sad and hurt when they are hurt. I pray this family will somehow find peace after such a tragic loss.
